Can a Postcard be fine art? The answer usually is no. However, what if Picasso designed a line of original Postcards featuring his art? What if Leonardo Davinci, Van Gogh or Salvador Dali designed their own Postcards? Would they be more valuable than the common Postcard? The answer is yes!
Max Greiner, Jr. is an internationally collected, American artist born, in 1951. His artwork is owned in all 50 states and about one hundred countries. Some of his sculptures are valued at more than two million dollars each. Would Greiner Postcards, personally designed by the professional Texas artist, be more valuable than the “run-of-the-mill” Postcard? Yes!
At the beginning of 2024, the multitalented artist created and issued his own line of top-quality Postcards featuring his stunning, original photography. Greiner captured the essence of his original art and the beauty of nature found in Kerr County, Texas. This is where the artist and his wife, Sherry, have made their home since July of 1981.
The goal of Max Greiner, Jr. was to create the most beautiful Postcards ever made! This is not an easy task considering billions of Postcards have been mailed around the world, since they were first invented in 1869. Popularized at the first World’s Fairs, at the turn of the century, Postcards instantly became collectables, as well as an inexpensive way to communicate. Even with the advent of the digital age, the internet, email and social media, the lowly Postcard continues to proliferate and hold its place in modern culture!
Greiner Postcards have some distinctions that no other Postcards possess. First, the designer seeks to create the very best composition possible. Second, Greiner Postcards feature his historically unique, copyrighted and trademarked art and photography. Third, highest production quality has been achieved because the best materials and state-of-the-art printing process were used.
Every Greiner work, no matter the subject, medium, size or price, was viewed by the artist as a creative challenge. As a result, during his lifetime, Greiner has experienced professional success in the broad fields of art, architecture, landscape architecture, advertising, graphic design, photography and writing.
In 1976, at the beginning of the artist’s professional career, professor Alan Stacell, Head of the Environmental Design Department, at the Texas A&M University/College of Architecture, wrote about the 26-year-old artist in a “Letter of Recommendation” for graduate school: “I can tell you that Max Greiner is a volcano of imagination. I make this observation with reference to hundreds of design students that I have seen over 16 years. If there were a scale of physical and mental output, Max could be used as the standard by which others are measured.”
Finally, Greiner Postcards provide a window into the artist’s soul. Each Postcard has a QR Code on the back, which allows the owner to hear the “story behind the art”, in the artist’s own words.
Max Greiner, Jr. was made in the USA… in 1951. The artist was reared in the Lone Star State of Texas, knowing from age seven that he was gifted by God to be a visual artist. Trained as an architect at Texas A&M University, Greiner graduated in 1974 in the top of his design class. After graduation, Professor, Rodney Hill wrote in a graduate school Letter of Recommendation: "Max has the most fertile imagination I have ever run across, bar none. He is refreshingly frank, honest, and unencumbered with game playing.”
In 1975, Max married his wife, Sherry. The couple started their own fine art/design business in the spring of 1978, in the Piney Woods of southeast Texas, near the small town of Woodville. In July of 1981, the couple moved to Kerrville, Texas, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. In December of 1998, Max and Sherry Greiner moved into a very creative, passive-solar/earth-sheltered studio/home, designed by Max for their 126-acre ranch not far from town.
Greiner has been called a “Renaissance Man” by many. His creative work includes drawings, paintings, sculpture, jewelry, architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, photography, graphic art, advertising, product and website design. He also is a published author, inspirational speaker, avid archer, outdoorsman and lover of God’s creation.
Greiner’s original, copyrighted and trademarked artwork ranges in price from one dollar to over two million dollars. His work is collected in all 50 states and almost one hundred countries. Owners of Greiner artwork include US Presidents, Senators, Representatives, Governors and the stars of business, TV, radio, sports, music and religion. These have included Pope John Paul II, Dr. Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, James Dobson, President George W. Bush, Senator Ted Cruz and Governor Mike Huckabee, Jack Nicklaus, Johnny Cash, Chuck Norris and companies like Coca Cola Bottling, Chick-fil-a, Hobby Lobby, and numerous energy corporations.
All of Max’s monumental bronze, steel and stone sculptures can be viewed at The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden on IH-10 in Kerrville, Texas. The 24.5-acre spiritual art park was inspired by God in December of 2001 and designed by Greiner. It features world-class landscaping, Bible scriptures and sculptures, donated by Max and Sherry Greiner. In July of 2022, the leading travel website, Trip Advisor, designated The Coming King Sculpture Prayer Garden in the top 10% of all tourist attractions worldwide. The free, non-profit art park is open 365 days a year. For more information on the garden visit: thecomingkingfoundation.org.
